Days of our lives
Some days, you live intentionally
You breathe in the morning
Kicking stones, picking flowers
You smile at strangers and bless the grouches
There are only stars and rainbows and beauty spots
Your heart full, steady, what can you not believe?
Other days, life leaves you behind
The earth goes on spinning while your world stands still
There is no day or night, only darkness
Dark clouds and tears
Stormy hearts ridden with old fears,
Heavy head filled with gloom, what couldn’t possibly go wrong?
You cry your eyes out
You dance your legs off
You feel on top of the world
Or as blue as the sea
You pick flowers
Or forget your way home
You live in every second
Or watch your days pass you by
Yet they are all your days
None of them misplaced
The sadness will open you up
The joy will hold you together
All of them unraveling the gift that is your life
You must live them all
Eyes open, head out of the sand
You taking it all in…
Beholding in all its glory, your life…all the days of your life.
